You snicker at that thought, because any one whose ever been in real Cobra will tell you that it will not scare you, but hurt you if you are not prepared. The original 427 Cobra will run 11.90's all day long. Oh, and any factory Cobra has a 4 spd.

It depends. For a purpose built drag car, AT is the way to go. When you set a consistent line pressure, you have a consistent shift point. And, an auto will handle more abuse then a MT. Then, when you add in a trans brake, delay box, blah blah blah, an AT is unbeatable. But, to a true motorhead, a 12.0 manual trans car is more fun to watch than a low 10 second AT car because it takes a LOT more skill and guts to bang shift a stick down the 1320. Many a car has blown a clutch or syncro power shifting.
