Dodge Charger police cruiser
We have them in the city I work in, and I've seen a lot of surrounding communities going to them as well. If I'm not mistaken its because Ford is discontinuing the Crown Vic. The staties are getting them too:

Terrifying to see come up on you on the highway

The National Park Service at Guilford Courthouse National Military Park in Greensboro, NC had a very nice Charger. White with the green NPS decals.
It was odd seeing the Charger parked next to a Revolutioary War reinactors camp. I wish I got a photo!

I saw 'Street Kings' with my daughter yesterday. In it, the cop lead character, played by Keanu Reeves, drives a Charger - all black. I know it's not marked, but it is a cop in a Charger.

They look great but inside, not as wonderful! You can't see as much as you could in the CVPI's. There isn't as much room inside either.
I do have to wonder if they can stand the test of time like the Fords have.
All in all they look sick and they blend in a lot easier than any Crown Vic can.

From Polara's to Coronets to Fury's Dodge pretty much ruled the police car industry from the 60's to the late 70's. Remember the Blues Mobile?
Our PD has yet to switch to Chargers for the department patrol car's however in Honolulu Police Officers have the option of purchasing their own subsidized vehicle and many have opted for Chargers. In addition the department moved to the new low profile LED bars and they are awful hard to spot day or night.

Fort Worth's officer's association bought quite a few mixed with some Crown Vics a while back. Luckily:
a. I am not insane, and won't run from then to find out which are v-8's and which aren't.
b. They got a smashing adam-12 black and white paint scheme at the same time, so they stand out from a mile away.
c. It's fairly new, so if you see one on the side of the road, it's almost certainly a cop. Not so true with the Crown Vic, that body style has been around for what, 12 years?
Never mind that they usually seem to get me with a motorcycle.
