Forget national security. That thing could literally, even if accidently, maim or kill someone in the blink of an eye. Jeesh, they should get it off the streets. There must be a loophole in a law somewhere.
IT's the fact that the jet was added, but none of the original engines emmision controls were modified....
But really, while this is a potentially more explosive mix than a jacked up pickup, one could argue that 34" tires on a 16" lift doesn't make a controllable vehicle, and yet you can do that and drive on the roads....

But that standard can be applied to a huge amount of options and mods currently done to cars.
Points to consider.
1) No animals (that I know of) were killed in testing this.
2) It didn't involve (that I know of) any black market commerce.
3) It didn't involve substance abuse, spousal abuse, or pet abuse!
4) While somewhat nerdy, and potentially explosive, it's less risky that cheating on ones wife!
5) It's really, really cool!
