The base model comes with a 115 horsepower 1.6-liter OHC 16V incline 4-cylinder engine that will take you from 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds...

Now I realize that there may be variations. But, generally speaking the 06 Civic is .5 seconds quicker to 60, plus or minus .5 second. And, it has 25 more HP. I wouldn't exactly call that "much faster." My final point is that before the 2006 models, the highest horsepower Civic EX had 127hp which would mean that yes, most Civics are slower than the MC.

Unless of course you're talking about the Civic SI. In which case its not a fair comparison because then you should be comparing it to an MCS. That would be like comparing a VW GTI to a Civic EX rather than a Civic SI.
here is a good example of a SpecRac0r! im just kidding.
i really dont care who's faster. anyway, your car couldve been measured
at 30F while mine was measured at 95F.

And when I'm on my bike, I resent all car owners! Don't get me wrong, I love my MINI, but if less people drove and more biked, we'd all be healthier and save money! I'm not a super-fit 20 year old, either, so if I can bicycle commute 26 miles a day, anyone can.

That's exactly why I don't bike to work. My life expectancy would fall by about 40 years! It would just be a matter of time before I get flattened by an H2 soccer mom on her cell phone. I'll stick with public transportation.

Wow! 200 miles!

You think?

And that was a purely business decision. My point is to dismiss the conspiracy nuts that try to make a business decision into something more sinister.

I didn't make that claim. My point was that 'evil' GM didn't kill the electric car for sinister reasons, but rather moved to what it felt was a better long term goal. They might be wrong, but it's their money and their decision.

No, I don't ascribe those motives to the administration. I laud the goal of moving the US away from oil, and I wish the focus would first be industry instead of autos.
