New Rights for California Used Car Buyers
New Rights for California Used Car Buyers
I just found out that some new consumer rights crept in under the radar and thought posting this might help some people:
Key among those new changes starting July 1 2006 is the right to return a used car to a dealer as long as it is agreed on in advance:
"Used car protections
Two-day return option on used cars. You can purchase a two-day return option on used vehicles that cost $40,000 or less."

I think its a good thing, for anywhere from $75-$400 depending on the price of the car, you get the option to be sure the car is right/not a clunker - plus it is really all negotiable (both the option to return and the restock fee, which you get money back from) so in the end if you deal well it might not cost you much, if anything.
