i thought my civic-EX was the bestest. lol those Scions were pretty cool when they first came out, but now they look kinda dated imo.

I still think you could find a good condition used Golf, a car which I would actually trust (and it gets better MPG), for the same price as the Yaris or Fit, for 10k you could be driving one less than 5 years old. So it would cost less up front and to drive, unless you need a brand new vehicle for less than 15k I just don't see why one would purchase such a vehicle.

OK, well lets settle this...

The tC and the Civic are BOTH phenomenal econo-boxes, prob the two best on the market.

I've driven both, the Civic is a bit more refined/boring, the tC is a bit sportier/faster...If I was forced to get one though I'd go for the new Civic Si over the tC...if that counts.

In the end though, who cares, the mcs is cooler than both of them combined, right?.

I hate used cars (unless it's a MINI). If I was poor I'd prob buy a Yaris.

Each to his own I guess, tough if you looked real hard I bet you could find a used MINI, or most certainly a Mini for the same price its all a matter of motivation, but I still wouldn't touch the Yaris.

Maybe this is just me being a stickler for fuel economy, but I don't consider the tC to be an econobox. It gets the same fuel economy as a RAV4.

I guess that makes the MINI an even better econo box if the tC pulls in 22/29.

When I saw the spider made of gas pump nozzles in the ad I thought it was cool and creative - caught my attention and I got the 'good on gas' point. At least not a boring ad.

Don't dismiss the FIT

It does slalom just as fast as MINIs!

And it looks like a shrunken minivan...I hate it.

The Yaris hatch has a bit of a Euro look going on...much easier on the eyes imo.

My dad had a Honda EX (I think) Hatchback in the early 80s that got 52 mpg! So the technology is certainly out there for good mileage vehicles.

naw, Civic is THE econobox (econocar, in my case). tC's have no
history or legend...just a fad. and my civic is better and fast0r.

took a look at the fit and yaris today, in person, honda is better, but i think the sleazy toyota salesman detracted from the yaris a little bit, but still the toyotas really don't hack it compared to the hondas. Its looking like my folks will be be going with new civic EX, they are pretty nice and cheap!

tail light broken, rear bumper cracked...and I wasn't even in the car.

my MCS is safe at home scratch free. woohoo~!
for commuters.

gonna get an estimate in about an hour and will get her fixed up

Sorry to hear that, Ken! Godd thing you know who the culprit was.

Here's a Yaris review from boston.com. Nothing surprising...

I don't think I'd buy one but a friend that has to drive from Tampa to Orlando area just got herself a new one and it's kind of cute. She loves the 40 mpg she got on her last fillup.
