Which cars are NOT boring?
Which cars are NOT boring?
Okay this is just something I wanted to hear opinions on from people who follow the auto world, not just the MINI world. Other threads here talk about how virtually all GM cars are boring or ugly, the new Rabbit/Golf is boring and ugly, the Civic is boring, etc. and we talk about what these companies *should* do, as if we know exactly what would fix them.
So I'd just like to hear what vehicle or vehicles you think are beautiful, exciting, and/or non-boring? Basically a car (or truck or whatever) you want to stand up for and give a shout-out to

I have to give the Solstice credit. Good looking car for not a ton of money. I also have to give proper credit to the Mustang. I'm not a big fan of Ford, but the new Mustang has grown on me a little. The styling is good. It has some interesting colors to choose from, and seems to have good bang for the buck so far as HP goes.
The Saturn Sky is the Same as the Opal roadster, I honestly thought about get the turbo version but then I'd have to tell every body that I drive a saturn.
Aslo the veyron is nice, the Nissan 350/ G35 coupe look pimp and would be a fun car to drift with.
I have a Scion XB for some people it has to grow on you but its a very fun car its very mod friendly (still not fast) but in the looks department and the handleing department it kick @$$ for the cost. The XA and TC too
.
The ford GT is pimp but 8 MPG its very fuel effecient. The new Salen mustang are cool looking and come with superchargers, the roush edition doesn't look bad either but the realiablity is questionable. I think it the BMW 5 series or the 7 series that has the (M) button that brings the HP from like 400 to 505 and has the comp that can control the firmness of the shifts and can change the suspension set up for track at the push of a button. There are a few more but I don't want to bore you guys.
Edit and the new nissan skyline, can't wait for that in 09'.

I think that the Solstice and the Chrysler 300M are beautiful cars, and the Crossfire as well. The new Mustang is decent. As far as the Japanese and German cars go, not much really grabs me. Lotus Elise, obviously, is striking. I still haven't seen photos of the Sky yet, but really the only interesting-looking thing (to me) on the immediate horizon is the Volvo C30.
I'd say anything from World Rally Championship isn't boring.

Open GT is interesting, Lotus Elise also and the Nobel, maybe a Spec Miata.

Not to start a new topic here, but I'm interested to see how the the Solstice vs Miata (or whatever they call it now... MX5?) battle plays out in the marketplace. To me, the Solstice looks stunning while the new Miata is pretty weak, but the Solstice weighs 450 pounds more and reportedly feels twice as big when you're sitting in it - much less sports car-like. It's also several $k less than the Mazda. I really think that whatever consumers predominantly choose has implications for the future design of cars like MINI.
that would definetely end the thread, how about $40K, because you can buy a Mini for $45K, so........there we go.... Right now, there is not a whole lot selection to get me all pumped, maybe the Alfa Romeo speculations come to an end and they bring some Italian cars back to States.

rigth now im driving a 2006 Mitus Eclipse 3.8 V6 6 speed. I was like cool for the first few days.. but now im bored with it. it isnt one of those "i have to have cars" its nicly put together, need to be lowered a lot.
For me boring equates with a lack of engagement in the driving dynamics of the automobile, and lots of cars actually attempt to do just that very thing! MINIs aren't boring...but I don't think are Miatas as boring either. Perhaps even Beetles, xBs and PT Cruisers are engaging owners if only from a styling or lifestyle perspective. I think even a fast car can be boring....although I get the distinct impression that the Ariel Atom is not boring!! The problem with a lot of the cars on the market now is that they have speed but little else...and that's b-o-r-i-n-g!!! I assure you...my Cooper is not boring in the least!!
Here's my list (besides the Mini)...
TR3 (way less than $30k)
E-type (more)
XKR (used you can get one for $30k! With some warranty left)
Cobra replica (you can put one together for about $25k)
Lotus/Catherham 7 (from less to much, much more)
Arial Atom (More)
AH 3000 (from less to much much more)
65 GT-350 Shelby Mustang (Much, much much more)
Sunbeam Tiger (right around to much more)
Mustang GT Convertable (less)
and last but not least,
My 65 Mustang Converible with 5.0 EFI and Griggs suspension! (Much more!)

Hay...
it's just a bit over a quarter million... Before you try to import it! But I'd agree, it's definantly not boring.
But can you drill your hot date in it without having to see a chiropractor, or getting some expensive body panels replaced?

More HP per ton than an ENZO, street legal in the UK, US sales available and competitive pricing with an MCS. I want mine in black but the server seems to be down right now. And it passed the Top Gear Speed bump test.

Ariel Atom
And yes it has a Honda 2.0L Supercharged 300hp engine but as far as I'm concerned but to me that just means its cheaper to tune to go faster
