some other Ideas The aztech isn't cool especially if you ever work for a GM dealer you see so many of those things needing repair it would make your head spin.

The Atom is a cool car
any aston Martin DB7, DB9
MORGAN AERO 8

ONE OF MY FAVORITE weismannroadster GT (check it out)
I want one bad. www.wiesmann-auto-sport.de/gtstart.html

Can a Toyota Yaris hatch be made to handle well? I realize it's never gonna be fast, but if it could corner well it would be cool - and cheap.

How about the Wrightspeed X1? It looks like an electric Atom. 0-60 in 3 seconds and the equivalent of 170 MPG

Nothing beats the smell of burning petrol in the morning though and I don't think you get that same deep race car note with it either.

Some very interesting responses here.....but remember, it can be just a shout out, doesn't have to be fast or great-handling!

And I will admit when the Aztek came out, I loved it.....the center console that was a removable cooler, and the rear tent accessory were pretty neat. But, I got over it quick.

Right now I think Aston Martin has probably the most beautiful cars.

Fun Rides

Over the years, I have had opportunity to have some fun rides, so I'll voice my opinion (withoug going too far back in time, eg to old Alfas):
First cars sold in America:
Miatas (I've owned two of them)
BMW
M cars (owned a '04 M3 SMG - @#$%^&* fast)
all 3 coupes with sport pkg
Z3 coupes esp M coupe
New Z4 coupe looks like a hoot
Porsche
virtually any 911, but late 80s-early 90s favorites
Boxter
356s
but no turbos -too serious!
Datsun/Nissan Z cars, excepting 280ZX - a pig...
Subaru WRX - wild track car
Mitsu Evo - same
Race-prepped Hondas, e.g. CRX, Civic
NSX- if you fit them, I don't!
C4/5/6-Corvettes. Have owned one C4, but not my "style" - still goes like stink but eats brake pads and tires.
Superperformance Coupe. Not into Cobra replicas, but they can be fun. The coupe, however, is over the top.
Panoz
Nothing Toyota makes is fun...IMHO, nor Lexus
I'm not a Mustang/Camaro/Firebird fan, but the SVT Mustang ain't bad
SVT Focus - no seriously!
Things not available here:
Any Alfa Romeo, love the Sportwagon
All Fiats - great for the Italian mountain GPs
Nissan Skyline
Any English Kit car, like the Ariel Atom, Noble, Rocket, etc.
BMW 1-series - seriously nice ride!
BMW diesel 3 and 5 series
VD Polo
Renaults, Citroens and Peugeots - French cars ride well but still handle, and the diesels are high performance. Just look strange...
And as a postscript, my neighbor loves his Jeep with the small block for the desert...and my kids are big on the Rotax goKart!

New IS from Lexus looks great, nice interior and a nice chunk of power. Toyota has always tried to max out sales, and hasn't made enough consumer performance cars. The Supra will always be a street legend, a production motor that could handle crazy boost. I hope the new Supra makes a good showing, every car manufacturer has to represent when it comes to their flagship cars. The same goes for those Honda engineers working on the new NSX.

That Atom and X1 both look friggin sweet. They look like they could run circles around people at any track.
