2006 Civic SI??
2006 Civic SI??
What do you guys think of the new Civic SI?
Technical Features
• 197hp, 2.0-liter, DOHC i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine
• Close-Ratio 6-Speed Manual Transmission
• Helical Limited-Slip Differential
• LEV-2 (Low-Emission Vehicle)
• Drive-By-Wire Throttle System™
• Control-Link MacPherson Strut Front Suspension
• Reactive-Link Double Wishbone Rear Suspension
• Electric Power-Assisted Rack-and-Pinion Steering
• Power-Assisted Ventilated Front Disc/Solid Rear Disc Brakes
• 100,000-Miles-or-More Tune-Up Interval
Probably has no torque due to the V-Tec system but this does seem impressive. I heard the handling is amazing. Interior is really nice also.

It's looking more Prius-esque, imo. That offends me!
It was fast enough 30 years ago...also imo.

hey, i have been looking at this topic all day, it is not developing as fast as it should, and i am thankful to God for that. Otherwise i will be all over here tearing apart the civic again
I like the sedan better than the coupe for some reasons.

I think the new Civic is an interesting car, but for the first time ever, the 4 door sedan looks better than the coupe.
As far as the new Civic Si, there are two reasons why I am not attracted to this car:
1) This car should have been a hatchback! The new Civic Si hatchback (3 and 5 door) are sold in other world markets but not North America! American Honda still clings to the stupid belief that gringos will not buy a hatchback. Hello Mc Fly??? Where have you been all these years? The success of the MINI hasn't been proof enough that Americans will buy a tastefully designed hatchback? (Unlike the previous generation Civic Si that was a pretty ugly, minivanesque sporty hatchback).
2) The Xbox and Playstation inspired instrument cluster.
And let me add another dislike to the list:
3) The very steeply raked windshield. Mag reviewers have complained about this claiming that the steep windshield forces the driver to look around the A-pillars.

IMO, check out the Mazda.

yes, Mazda3 is probably the best bang for the buck j-sportcompact
below $20K. i like their wagons. their interior is contemporary but
not space alien like the new Civic. that's it, the new civic looks like a
alien.
i knew it looked like something...

The Si is a sweet car and a great bargain. I wonder if Honda will actually bring the Type R over here this time, which would probably be a hatch.
The Mazda3 is cool, but I don't like the fact that the hatch is 5 doors instead of 3 and the sedans look like every other car on the road. The Mazdaspeed3 is rumored to be coming out later this year too.

let's see.. we missed
EK9 Type R
EP Type R
DC5 Type R
NSX Type R (ill only drool over this one!)
i like the new civic sedan look, looks very futuristic, the coupe im not so sure about.... the rear 3/4 looks a bit funny, from the side it looks too weird as well, cant quite describe it.... i guess the porportions are a bit wrong, the cabin seems too far forward so the lines seems not to flow... the rear i guess maybe too long, or possibly due to the round *** that it's got i feel the car's got way too strange for my liking...
the sedan on the other hand seems alot more honest, the lines are nice, and it looks like a futuristic vision of a car we'd all drive in 2050

correct, agreed, but it will be one of the millions of Hondas, no personality, teenager, entry level hot hatch. Nothing more than that. But on the other side, kudos to Honda, because it is hard to beat the price factor.

Definately not meant as a knock on the MINI which is a great value as well (especially if you put a value on style) but the honda is a lot of car for the price.
