I really think that good design is a product of not trying too hard, and that's what I hate about virtually every recent BMW, especially the over-wrought flanks of the Z4 - scalloping or "flame surfacing" for its own sake isn't good design.

Nothing wrong with the way my MC handles and rides for a daily driver and weekend autocross car, but for things like hauling the family on long trips in a car that still handles great (and has a more comfortable ride than my MC), the BMW would be hard to beat. Before I drove the 330, I wasn't expecting a lot out of the car, but it pleasantly surprised me. I don't really like a soft, mushy riding car, but the BMW I drove (and another I've ridden in) seem to have the perfect blend of a smooth ride and great handling. My MC is more biased towards the handling end of that spectrum.
