Kit Cars???

Well, I am intrigued by kit cars, yet seem to know nothing about them. I especially like the ones designed after the Lotus Seven. Does anybody have any links of producers that are in America that sell kits like these? Hopefully next spring I will be assembling a kit car of some sort!

Since you're local, you might want to check out the class that Factory Five offers up in Flint on building a kit car. FF doesn't have a Lotus 7 clone, but I suspect that the class would be worth while, anyway.

Tread lightly. I've heard many a horror story about building kit cars, but on the other hand, I can definitely see the attraction. It just sort of sounds like fun.

The question isn't whether the kits are good or which one to get, etc. The question is whether you want to spend hundreds or thousands of hours putting one together. It can be a lot of fun, and you get to drive something you put together when you're done, but that has to be the way you want to spend your time.

Thanks for the link, I think that might be a good idea!
I looked at your website and it looks good! The monster miata looks like a blast and the '67 Camaro is beautiful! I have always been a sucker for first gen camaro's!

A Lotus 7 replica would be pretty sweet. I'm not sure you know but Caterham has USA dealers now and you can get the kit w/o engine or tranny. It's not exactly a complete "kit car" but you still have to put the engine and tranny in.
