New Vw Golf R32
It's just not coming to the U.S. at least that was the word from Len Hunt when he was running VWoA. The plan back then was to pass on the R32 and wait a couple years for the R36. I sense part of the reason for skipping the R32 in the U.S. had to do with the fact that the MK5 Golf still isn't out in the U.S., while it's been out in Europe for a while now.

They will definately put a bigger engine there. Since MK V is havier than MK IV, and the numbers from the Mk IV R32 isn't very impressive.
BTW, why US always be the last place for updating new Golf?! I been seeing the Mk V in other place for years.

"quality" is what make them so different....but we just can't show it in any of these pictures.
..to make it a bit clearer. It's just like banging a cheap hooker can't compare to a kiss with supermodel..eh?

Quality not Reliablity...I'm sure Civic can run more than 200K miles plus save more gas, but.....no thanks.
If you can't tell a different from a better built car to another. I think driving a Civic shold make you happy already.
Reliabilty is just like well done burger (everyone take it, no problem with it)
Quality is just like medium rare burger (People love it, but some one will get sick or no one).
Company can build a car with all reliable parts that used over decades, however they don't appeal to buyer.

Yes i can, thats why i bought a MINI instead of a GTi. You know you see crap whenever the interior is peeling away at 60000 miles. It runs fine, its just when the air goes out 3 times, then the waterpump fails, then the entire electrical harness needs to be replaced. Oh, and its 2 years old. Anyway, im going to restate my first reply. I would take the r32, just with a very long extended warrenty.
Amen brother

The build quality between a civic and a golf are miles apart!
The Mk4 R32 was sweet too...
I drove a Mk GTi the other day....it was bloody quick.....so quick that what feels like 80km/h in a mini, is about 120km/h in the golf....the stuff speeding tickets are made of...
the GTi is very refined, there's no turbo lag. The shift is a bit less interactive than the mini, as is the steering. The build quality is undeniably good.....better than the mini I would say, on first inspection. The R32 is about the same in terms of that....except that in Australia....they were waaaaaaaaaay overpriced....they were going out the door at about AUD$70k after on-road costs and options.....I spoke to a guy last weekend that just paid AUD$47k for a fully optioned blue R32 with 9000km on the odometer.....that's a lot of depreciation in a few months!
