Help me find a the small car that beat a bike!
If y'all want to see how fast a Hayabusa is just check out this vid: http://www.virgeweb.com/rage2/misc/220mph.wmv
Nothing like popping a wheelie at 130MPH to wet your pants. I'd probably want something slightly bigger than a Kart, though--do they have a Molecule?

A gixxer 1000 does low 10's out the box and i know damn well a busa will kill a gixxer on the street.....we have bike wars out there on Long Island and the best of the bike clubs come around to race for dough every weekend near me. My friends laughed when i told em about that "story". We have a few turbo busa's around here for them to run if they "think" there that fast.
Matt, I don't know if I forwarded to you or bcc'd you or not, but I got a couple emails from the US distributor a few hours north of us. If you didn't get the info, let me know, and I'll share...
That being said, no money down until I can be certain that I'll have no legal issues with this baby in CA. I'm otherwise very serious. I even replaced the Caterham photo on my home pc's desktop to the Atom, in yellow...

I dont even think you fit a 6pack in there .
I sold my dune buggy a couple months back, and I really miss not driving a convertible during these months! My MINI will someday be relegated to Fall/Winter use, while a RWD convertible will be for the Spring/Summer. I just don't know if the Atom is going to cut the mustard, legally speaking. They will initially be sold as track cars only. Once a few folks are able to jump through the hoops to get them on CA public roads, then I'll get much more serious...

It will be street legal in some states, but not others that require a windshield, at least of some type. Ariel is working on something to satisfy this requirement, at least so I was led to believe...
Having had kit cars (still have one), I know how registration and smog can get. I'm going to let others pave the way on this one
I've done my share in the past...

mataku, I don't mind doing so, but I have those emails on my work email (address). On the first one, he attached an FAQ that you might be interested in...
In trying to find the US website and contact info for you, I found this blog: http://blog.tmcnet.com/blog/tom-keat...atom-2-car.asp
Craig is the guy that I was corresponding with...
Wow, I found this VERY informative article! Even has a reference to our MINI
For those really interested, there's a link within to an Atom forum. I'll be TonyB over there also...

Ah, here's the link to the US website which has an email link, and phone number:
http://www.ariel.us.com/04/frames.htm
1FSTMINI, yes, I'm under the impression that creating some type of windscreen should be fairly easy. With that said, I'm sure they would like to make on that satisfies the needs of all states that require one. Sounds like they are getting info now that will help them with their design...
I'm hoping that the forum (atomclub.com) will be a good place to get info. I would love if it were a kit! Registration would most likely be easier, and the cost would be less as well...

The second link is excellent. Very good read.
anyways, whenver you have the time, the extra info will be very cool. although there's no chance I could get this thing now (college student) it's something I would like to look into in the future.
A few remarks of the article i read:
about 25 mpg, very good.
moved from chicago to oregon, bummer chicago is a nice place. Not to test cars, but it would be cool to have them built here.
