Congrat COOPERation!
Same here! I was so impressed with the 200hp and 207torque!..FSI...DSG...I really like this car. Handling is pretty tight as well.
I have been waiting for an A3 for a long time. I got a Lava Grey with DSG.
Only one chip you can bring the car up to 250hp and 280torque.
Sportback is the 4 doors version of an A3.

That's awesome, thanks for the link! Why the hell wouldn't I go drive an A3 and get paid three albums?
Since Herb Chambers MINI gave me such a terrible buying experience, I've gone to their other dealerships (Honda and Scion so far) basically just to drive cars for the hell of it, and stick it to them by using up their resources that way. I'm not sure if they sell Audis, but if so that's where I'll be waving my iTunes printout thingy.

That's a good reason to wait. I personally want the 2 doors, but I don't think AUDI will do that favor to me.
For this moment, I need to mod my MINI to catch up with my wife A3.
Love Audi, HATE the new grill stlye VAG is going to. With the exception of the Beetle, the entire VW line will have it by next spring...blechDoes anyone know what has to be done to get the 33 credit? GM had a similar promo going on a little while ago, and you had to actually go through all the numbers before getting the free 'test drive' gift. LAME.
kaelaria, from the link:
" Fill out the registration form, and click "send". You will be emailed a test drive certificate to print. Present it to your dealership on the day of your A3 test drive. Once you complete your A3 test drive experience, your dealer will confirm your visit, and you will receive an email with your iTunes redemption code and instructions for downloading your 33 free songs from iTunes."
I don't know, unless "test drive experience" is dealerspeak for locking you in a room with the finance people, it seems fairly straightforward. I don't think it'll difficult to conjure up enough enthusiasm for the A3 to pass myself off as a potential customer, although I'm in total agreement with you about the new grilles. Nasty.

Yes, that wording was just like GM. You didn't find out about the details until you were there. Hopefully Audi is more straightforward. I can certainly see the point of requiring more effort from the 'prospect', especially if it's 100% to farm credit, with no buying intention. But on the flip side of that, they are the ones that offered in the first place!
It reminds me of a story (I'll be brief) from a few years ago. A telemarketer called our house and offered a free trip (VERY restrictive terms, but free) for sitting through a sales pitch about a travel club. So we attended the 1 hour lecture/pitch, then had a salesman sit with each table and try to sign everyone up for the $1000-$5000 packages. We had zero intention of buying anything, and he was very frustrated, when we simply no, we're not interested to every question. We hav no intention of misleading him or wasting either of our time. When he finally ran out of tactics he brought over the Supervisor/Manager who signed our certificate, and then very rudely told us we never should have come here, if all we wanted was the free trip. I VERY firmyl and loudly told HIM that it was HIS company that had cold called US and invited us. He had nothing to say, and we had our trip certificate. Turns out it was so restrictive, it was unuseable for anyone but a retiree, with 100% flexible travel time and no planning. But oh well, we tried!

how are Audi's quattro drivetrain durability? no issues with tranny
breaking or anything similar to the Subie nightmares?
that A3's really starting to grow on me. Im thinking that or the
TSX to replace my beater down the road... or my other idea is the TL
or the Odyesse touring

Ken,
The front grill for all of the new VW and AUDI was a little strange to me at first, but after I have been researching, I kindda like it now...hehe
This is my wife's car. We want another MINI, but our family is getting bigger so I think A3 is more utility. I hate SUV and A3 give us a little more room in the back...plus this car has a lot of mods that I can play with...perfect for us!
For those who want to test drive, please try the DSG not the manual. This new gear box is incredibly fast and smooth. Also come with paddle shifter which I really enjoy playing with it.
Quarto is nice, but I want a new 2.0FSI turbo. This engine is so much easier to tune than the 3.2 V6.
Here is what I'm planing to do.

About the itune, There is no trick behind it. You only need to bring the email confirmation to the dealer when you test drive. You will get the free code numbers within a week after the test drive.

MyPocketRocket- dang, I like!
I would definitely go with the paddle shifter too... I don't like MT cars
for the commute. man, Im happy to see that I have more selection now.
There's not too many cars in the sub-$30k range that I like.... but that
A3 with those mods I can see myself in.

Congrats to you too, MPR...nice color. I haven't found an un-modded photo of the car yet that truly does it justice. We tried the DSG on an dirty, sticker-laden A3 right off of the truck, but it had a terrible lag when the throttle was punched hard...we bought the 6-speed manual and we're extremely pleased with it...in fact, she doesn't give me much driving time in it...
huummm...I did not notice any lag on the DSG, but may be one car is different from another...eh?
...but my wife can't drive stick shift so....COOPER S is mine and I got to drive her AUDI too..hehe

I'm a big fan of the A3.
It's on the short list of cars that I might buy in another year or two to replace my MC. I haven't driven one yet, but I will in the next few days. (especially if there's free music in it for me!
)
)
wow, the DSG can accelerate faster than the MT!
Mypocketrocket- to get that body kit and wheels, how much do you think it will cost total? Those are Hamann wheels on that pict? I can go with
a lower price wheel like Mille's or TSW's something for my commuter.

Yep! the DSG is amazingly fast and smooth. When you go for test drive try the sport mode that way engine will keep the RPM up a little higher than regular mode, but if you want all the fun of manual just snap on the paddle shifter and you can pull it all the way to redline.
Auto or Manual both are the same great car.
I think the wheels are Hannan and Oettinger kit is kindda pricy after I did look around.
front bumper - $1029
rear bumper valance $569
side skirts $689
I may go with AUDI factory body kit, which is going for around $1000

For right now, my wife say don't touch this car, because she doesn't want to go to work with all that 18" lowered and full exhaust system.
I may have to sneek in the garage at night and do just a bit at a time.
