I live in Michigan and figured that Souther Cal would bring the highest prices...I am thinking of selling my Mustang.

Thanks for your help.

If you have access to the Hemmings book, take a gander in there. We sold our 64 1/2 Rag Top before moving from VA to here a little over a year ago and we got $15K which we thought was a fair price. It pays to check around on-line (Auto Trader) and see what they are going for.

We advertised it in one of the local papers and the phone rang off the wall. 1st person that called ended up with a beautiful car to drive...

Immaculate pretty or immaculate show?

There's a big difference! For a clean driver, anywhere from 5-10 k depending on option level etc.

Fastbacks go for more (lots are turned into Shelby clones) and convertables more still.

But a clean convertable driver should be yours for $10k to $20k, depending (k code GT, low milage would be the higher end)

I've seen 6 cylinders for less.... All the above are for V-8s....

There's a beautiful 66 Hertz Shelby, with low milage, for $110k if you want the very best! Check www.norcal-saac.org.....

66 GT 350H (6S490) One of only 72 original White/Gold Hertz units built. One of the first run of Hertz cars, that was held back, due to Hertz requesting that the first run of cars be all Black. The units that were held back, were used for development and testing of different components. This car recieved a MICO master cylinder, and it is still on the car. It served it's rental duty at L.A. X. and was subsequently sold to a dealer in Fresno. The dealer sold it to his nephew, who owned it until the early 70's. It then went to Yakima, WA. and then to Portland, Oregon before coming to me. I would argue that this is one of the best documented multi-owner Shelbys in existence. I have a 3-ring binder full of copies of all registrations, as well as 2 early photos of the car, and the invoices. The original engine was replaced at some time, with a 66 Hi-Po engine (no serial#) The transmission is the original Hi-Po C-4 with the "C" servo. The car features lowered "A" arms, Koni shocks, open letter valve covers, and a 715 Holley, instead of the Autolite carburetor. The rear end is a 3.50:1 Detroit Locker. The paint is excellent, and is 18 years old! The interior is mostly original, and in excellent shape. The carpet is faded, but not worn or frayed in any way, and I have elected not to dye it. The steering wheel was sent to Dallas Mustang, and was restored using real Walnut instead of the woodgrain plastic. The undercarriage is dirty, from being driven, but this car has never had a patch panel, or rust. It starts, runs and drives wonderfully. It has been lowered, and looks mean on it's original no safety-bead chrome Magnum 500 rims. This car is not cheap, but good cars rarely are. Cars with this kind of documentation are hard to locate, especially a West coast car with no rust, or panel replacement. I am not forced to sell, but simply motivated to change direction, as I already have another 66 GT 350. The price is $110,000.00 and since I am in Oregon, reasonable (gas prices, ugh!) delivery is available to California. Call or e-mail me for more info. and pictures.

I dunno, but it may pain you to know that in 1973 or so, I sold my 1965 Mustang convertible for $175. It had some miles under the chassis and the left front fender had been hit, but nice otherwise. Hey, that was the going price way back then. What can I say?
