Pet Safety Peeve

I watch a lot of auto shows on MotorTrend (ie Texas Metal, Fast n Loud, Wheeler dealers, Vintage Voltage, etc). I enjoy watching folks do fabrication that I could never do. What drives me nuts is the lack of eye protection, especially when working under the car. Last night watching Vintage Voltage, the guy was grinding metal without eye protection. Wow, just plain wow.

A few years back, my brother in law was working on a part on his boat that was under tension without eye protection. Yep, wham right in the eye. They even air lifted him in an effort to save the eye. A while later, while wearing an eye patch, he said, 'Tom, even I knew better'. He is an aircraft mechanic.

I'm not a big safety guy but you can't replace your eyes. Then again, those aren't my eyes those guys are risking, I don't really care.
