New Saturn Sky roadster

This car will share a platform with the Pontiac Solstice (reportedly late 2005), and they're shooting for early 2006:

It's hard not to like a new sub-20k convertible... I just hope that GM has moved well beyond that last (10-year) generation of the Cavalier and begun to sell small cars that don't handle like trucks or fall apart like Yugos. Is it just me, or is there some Cadillac in that hoodline (sharp crease above the headlights)?

Tangentially (this it OT, right?), anyone read much about the Cobalt? It certainly can't be worse than the Cavalier, and hopefully it's much better (for rentals...). The only photo of it that I've taken a good look at made it look like it had the ugly disproportionate height of the Corolla.

Much nicer, IMO, than the Kappa derivative Saturn was showing at the North American International Auto Show. Here's one of my shots of that:

My favorite of the GM Kappa trio, though, is still the Nomad concept. They really should build that.
