Help on Second Car

About Lexus Santa Monica, Amazing Story!! Now how did you get diesel in your car??? Last I've see, the nozzle doesn't fit in most tanks. I helped a cute girl, obviously from out of town figure out why she couldn't use diesel in her VW--she was trying to jam the nozzle in and it wouldn't fit.
But nevertheless, whenever I needed service in my old LS400, they always provided me a loaner like the latest model RX330 or ES330 for as long as I needed. No questions asked. I wish Nick Alexander would loan own BMW or MINI loaners to their service customers.
I really can't say much about Jim Faulk of Beverly Hills. Oh man, I had the worst experience. My sales guy actually insulted me when it came down to negotiating, saying I was being unreasonable when I didn't accept his first price. Then he goes on to say that I'm just trying to get a lower price just cause it's human nature. I was ready to slam this guy.
We picked up the car today, and he's like ok your cars all detailed and ready to go. I find scratches in the clear coat that I didn't see before. I see white spatters all over the trim. There is some unidentified glue substance all over the moonroof controls with embedded hair. Even more to **** me off, I had parked my freshly cleaned MINI in front of the dealership off Maple in the first parking meter. Their sprinklers went off, the first head was broken, and when I noticed it, my car was covered from front to back to the roof with water--and this being such a hot day, you could see sheets of water spots on the dried areas on my bonnet---this happening in a matter of minutes.
I quickly moved my car to the other side of the street and wiped it down for the next 20 minutes with the microfibers I keep in my car and using Meguiars Quik Detailer to get rid of the water spots. I was pissed and told the receptionist about the sprinkler and she's like "Oh really? Ok, I'll tell maintenance"
Also I found a broken part of the roof on the IS300 last night and told the salesguy about it. He looked at it, and said, "hmmm, you can fix that under warranty". I'm thinking, why didn't they fix this before??? So we pick up the car today, and it's still broken. So I say, what about this trim piece? "Oh call me on Tues and we'll arrange an appointment"
I had also brought my digital camera to document the day. The sales guy makes this stupid wisecrack--"So where did you buy that camera?". I'm like why the ***** does he care? "I bought it from a mailorder store". He's like, "Oh I thought you were going to say you bought it from eBay".
This is because during negotiations, I told him I found on eBay Motors a guy selling a 2002 Sportcross with 43000 miles for $22K (but full leather and nav), and he proceeded to bash me and eBay about this. I told him this only because he kept acting like his "fair reduction" from the $27995 to $27500 was such a generous act.
All in all we got a good deal on a great car, but were treated like crap from this Lexus dealer that we will never deal with again. If they hadn't been the only one in Los Angeles to have a preowned IS300 Sportcross with 5,000 miles, we would NEVER have bought from these guys.

The Passat wagon is a great value, but styling wasn't exciting enough for us!

Richard, hubby wanted to know, after I read your delivery saga to him, if a monkey did the detailing! He said with the busted parts and the hairs, it made him wonder! LMAO!!!

Like I said, it was a bad morning. I just held the pump in place and filled up 15 gallons of diesel
OMG, that is sooooooo funny and sad at the same time.
Re: MINICLO Apes
Yeah it sure seems that way. They didn't do any prep on the car. I'm gonna detail it myself. You can tell the leather was treated with something like Armour All cause there are streaks all over it. I guess there is a reason for using dim lights in the showroom.

congrats, Octaneguy! Yaahh..buying used cars has its ups and downs. I bought a used 03 corolla for the wife as a beater earlier this year and also found a mass case of that milky substance.
those porters use waaay too much sauce on the plastic and vinyl. I ended up wiping down the entire car and re-detailing it (haven't washed the car since..hahaha)
I also found a trim problem on the door... which I fixed on my own.
Just part of buying a used car, I guess.
As for the clearcoat, you can use some ScratchX and get those swirls out and finish off with some NXT TechWax. goodluck with your car and
enjoy!
Mazda3 is a nice hatch. I think Im going to get that next when my lease on the civic is done..
