besides mini--next favorite car?
Though I'd love a new Elise they are a bit pricey for me, and as I sold my 93 Miata in part because I wanted a rear seat for the kiddos, then opting for my first love, an XKE isn't very realistic.
If I weren't driving the Mini I would probably be in a 3 series Beemer, a used 4door M3 if I could find an unabused one at good price.

probably these then
as i await my 05 MCS, these keep me occupied-and the gas guzzler was my only car/daily driver for 10 years(owned it 25 years now), as well as carrying me from socal to ohio and back just last summer!
( if this works)
Well, it is strange on this site seeing all the european classic sports cars. A lot different than the other sites I've visited.
If money were no object, it'd be the Mclaren F1 or the Carrera GT. I'm seriosuly thinking of a few other cars to replace the G35 right now. Maybe a C6 vette, M3, 300C SRT-8, Pontiac GTO, or waiting on the new G35 or the Shelby GT500. I want something that is FAST, handles as well as my G35 (or better), looks nice, and really gets my attention like the G35 did at the NY Auto Show in Jan. 2002. Really tough to find a car that does all that and stays below 50K. GRRR, i'll be driving this damn G35 for the rest of my life!!

I don't know that I could truly pick one all-time favorite. I've got a long list of favorites that, if I had the money, I'd have a collection of.
My tastes range widely, but the one that's in my garage right now is a '73 Volvo 1800ES. I love it! I'll love it even more once we get the automatic swapped out for a manual.

Other favorites range from Delorean to Cord to a BMW 3.0 CSL.

I had thought I posted.
New - I think my favorite new "doable" car is the new Boxster "S".
old - a 427 cobra comes to mind. possibly a 66 "vette" because that was the year I could drive ..... not because it is an amazing car but every kid wanted one including me.
anything goes - man there are so many amazing cars but something from Italy in Red has always captured my "fancy".... i also love the German machinery ........ like a supermodel convention ..... too many choices.

Old: My Alfa Romeo GT Veloce.
Ciao,
If I could own any car in the world, without question it would be a long-nose, LeMans tail Jaguar D-Type. (There are some nice replicas around.) To my eyes (and ears, now that I think about it), it's the most beautiful car ever built. Has a nice historic record to boot.
When I was shopping for my MINI, the only other I seriously considered was the Prius. I love my MINI and it's definitely the most fun car I've ever owned, but I could still see myself in a Prius. (Or even an Insight!)
Of the cars I've owned: my '59 MGA Coupe. Never liked the roadsters much, but the curved windshield and the bubble top - and those crazy door handles! - made the coupe a whole 'nuther car. I suppose if I could afford to keep it running, I'd love to have a Twin Cam Coupe, but I was quite happy with my 1500 with a mild street cam in it. (At the time I bought my MINI, there was a Mk. II roadster for sale. I gave that some thought, but realized I needed a daily driver.)
My wife's Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 was a terrific car, too. The most reliable Brit we've ever owned, lots of power, classic lines. But the MGA Coupe wins by a hair.
I could be really tempted by a TC or TD, too...
