Step 2 ..... ????

OK, well, after spending $90 to find out that my Gas Cap was loose on my Ford Explorer, I decided to buy one of the PC based OBD-II software tools. After some review, I went with the AutoEnginuity tool. So far so good.

I bought the software, installed it, ran it ... still... So far So Good. It offers lots of different sensors, which is great, plus the ability to do Dyno type measurements.

So, here comes the question. I'm not a motorhead, so I don't know what some of the sensor outputs are supposed to look like, or if they are within the appropriate range, etc, and I don't know what all the various DTC's are (though I have been able to find a fairly extensive list of the codes on a website). Therefore, I decided to buy a shop manual for the truck.

The question is... I know you've been waiting for it .... Where is the best place to get a factory shop manual ? I've done a couple of web searches, and found some places that sell CD based manuals for around $24, but I don't know if these are Factory manuals or not.

Thoughts ??

Thanks,
BB

Chiltons and Haynes are good manuals and these days you can use the CD versions (yes they are the equivalent to shop manuals) which require a computer. You can find them on ebay.com or from Amazon.com and other sources.

I did find this-
