While I don't have my own Mini yet, from driving around other folk's mini's and my husbands Evo, his Evo definitely outhandles the mini. Don't get me wrong, the Mini handles great and I'm getting one as soon as the LSD comes out, but the Evo hangs corners like nothing else in that price range (OK, comparable to the STi)

Lots of cars handle better than a Mini - but I can't afford any of them. Maybe my next car will be a 2006 Miata with the rotary engine option. That is probably worth waiting for. For now, drive Mini, think Bugatti.

Joe dentist et al

Where have you heard of the rotary powered 2006 Miata?

I think you are right. That car would be awesome, but I have never heard of a rotary Miata.

Anyway, I need a 4 seater, so the point is moot.

Now, what 4 seater convertible under 45 K would be a better handling car than a MCSC?

NONE (imo)!!

I dare you to find one.

Before the (proposed) rotary Miata came the RX-8 at $28k. Problem is, from what I read, it's fuel economy isn't that great.

There aren't many cars that handle better than Minis!! I know a few people who have traded in their Vipers because they think Mini's handle better. Now if that isn't a compliment, I don't know what it

If you have a MINI, then why not get one of these too, like I did !

And then there is the MINI ................

Oh but Charles you can buy one of those from Ferrari and some of the 02 and 03 seasons F1’s are for sale. You can take immediate delivery on a 02, but must wait for the 05 season to start to get your 03.

I love my MCS. She allows me to play with all others in the canyon where I live. I am however looking to relegate her as my Fall/Winter ride, and get or make one of these for my Spring/Summer jaunts (or what the Caterham guys call "blats"). With a Duratec engine of very reasonable tune, a weight to hp ratio of 5 can be had . Oh, and for handling, Top Gear had this baby outdoing the Elise  . Street-legal F1 = Caterham 7!
