I like the aesthetic of the TT, especially the roadster; quite timeless. Once behind the wheel, the tweaky interior is nice, but feels typically cold-german, even if the rotating HVAC vent dials are fun.

The TT was on my shopping list along with the MINI too, FYI.

Once underway, it feels like a Golf through and through. Handles decent, the turbo is fun for about 2 minutes, and onward with the commute we go. No offense to TT owners everywhere, but the TT is the only vehicle I've driven to date where I felt like a complete queer driving; like everyone was pointing and laughing and making fun of me because I was driving a TT. Not exactly an image I was looking for when shopping for a new car!

Needless to say, the TT was crossed off my list. Nice car, especially if you're a dentist or europhite or blonde chick or flaming homo, but definitely not for me.

[Disclaimer]; You guys know I'm just playing with the blonde and gay jokes Not sure where the dentist fits in really; can't you just see a dentist driving a TT?

If your choice is not $$ limited (the tt is beaucoup bling more than a MCS anyways) take a test drive in the 3.2 tt with the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG). If that doesn't help make up your mind, nothing else will.

It looks like a hopped up Beetle in a similar manner to the Porsche 911.

I think turbo chargers are really fun to play with...tune them and enjoy easy boost.

I think at one time a car enthusiast would want to play with turbos. Why
not the TT?

i personally love the way the tt looks. its different and i think that that different looks good. turbos are really fun to have to because you can always tune and/or go bigger and the power is amazing (and i know, i own a turbo toyota mr2 )

 I like the TT's looks, and I'm not blonde! I've always called it the "Titty!" I guess once I called it that, I couldn't imagine driving one! Tee hee!

Exactly my sentiments about the "Tittie", I like that. While going for a test drive, I noticed how long it took for the car to get going. Once the turbo kicked in, it was fun until red line, then shifting into second and waiting for the fun again. Nope, not enough fun for the money. It's a chick car.

TT or MCS

I actually, like many others it seems, thought about the TT 225 when going for the MCS. It was way to small inside, I just felt cramped. I'm not that big a guy, only 6'0", but the MCS is much more comfortable, and easier to utilize. It's the perfect daily driver, year round, and can still hold 4 adults and some luggage. Unlike the TT, which can only hold 2 real people, the shelf of a backseat can hardly hold a box of pizza never mind a person, and if you were going to drive it in the winter, even with the Quattro, you would look like that person who wants to look like the sh t, while really looking so poor that they have to drive their TT in the winter. Plus the trunk isn't even really bug enough to hold a set of golf clubs. Just not practical for anything really, quick, yes, but no fishbowl factor, no utility, and no interior space make the MCS a much better choice all around.

Just my $.02 though........

I'm with sequence on this one.
As well, that car needs some serious weight loss. Think I remember it being around 3200lbs or something around there. But if I were to choose that car, I'd at least go for the 250hp model.
Cheerio,
