ScatPack is the smart choice for challengers. Its an RT body with SRT guts on skinny tires. The 2016 year was a 485hp 6.4L (the hellcat is a 6.2L if i remember correctly). But with the same size supercharger applied, the scatpack will outdo the 707...some get 900hp from the 6.4.

Believe it or not, it handles it weight very very well through the bends...well...did until someone turned into me head-on, I couldn't say f*** before he hit me, it was just "fuh"

 

I regret not buying a used car instead of the new 09 R56 I bought back in 08. I should have just bought a 05-06 if I really wanted one. Oh well!

 

I regret never owning an RX-8. Yes, I know that they were unreliable, had terrible fuel economy, and not that fast. But the handling and the linear power delivery are awesome, and I love the styling. Maybe I can pick on up as a summer car and to scratch the RWD itch.

 

After 3 years in Afghanistan (dod contractor) I impulse bought a 2002 corvette. Knew nothing about it or them. Sometimes one gets really lucky. This car never gave me one problem. In the beginning, I missed having a manual and a convertible. I got over those quickly.. All I did was add a 4" Boral exhust and upgraded the stereo to one that could play DVD's. Still motoring on at 125000. It is about to move on to my son. Luckly I have the R52 to take its place. I do not expect it to motor on without a few problems. Comes with the car. I had 4 MG's - B's and midgets...so it has to be a bit more stable than those. I seem to have a Brit hang up. I have a 2005 Royal Enfield 500 Army OD with metal side 'bags' and.....my wife is British (Eastbourne).

Fiska Karma, now that is one great looking modern day vehicle. I believe it is a tmeless design.

 

Back in the mid 80’s was offered an Old Ferrari Dino for what I recall 14k. Told him to get that Fiat away from me.....

 

I have a few. I regret not buying a 1969 AMC AMX in Matador Red with a 390 and Go Pack that I was offered for $3500 while delivering pizza to the owner. They had gotten it as an inheritance and it was restored. They never answered the phone when I tried to call them. Most of my regrets come from a lack of income when things were cheap that I knew would improve in value, like a nice XJ Cherokee for $500 with a rare manual trans and 4.0 + 4x4. I also regret not buying an original Mini when they were still affordable or a Datsun PL 510 (the two cars at the very top of my automotive bucket list!) or maybe even a B13 Sentra SE-R. Right now, I would really like to get a 1989 Suzuki Alto Works (AWD turbo Kei car), or a Trabant P601 S but sadly my low income and lack of space keeps me from doing it.

Strangely for some, the R50 was a bucket list car for me that I bought for myself as a present for finally getting out of pizza delivery after over 20 years. Because of that, I made a rule that I would never pick up a pizza with it and would only use on of my other cars, all of which have seen pizza duty at some point.

 

'71 Olds Cutlass convertible, red on white with a white top, very cherry, with a smooth running 350 V8 and a very rare 3-speed manual on the column. $5500 back in the mid 1990s, and technically had the money but being freshly emancipated from domestic servitude at the time I didn't have it just laying around.

'73 Buick Riviera "boat tail" with the big monster 455 V8 in copper mist with a saddle interior. Beautiful car, and worth the price at the time to be the only one in my zip code with one. Oh well.

2006 Mini Cooper S in Space Blue. Silver roof and hood stripes, the very year and colors I had searched high and low. Used at a Chebbie dealership in Riverside, staffed by the usual band of ex-cons, *** clowns and idiots you find here in SoCal. The sales flunkee tried playing the bs back-and-forth pricing game with her mysterious unseen "sales manager" so I laughed in her face and walked. Hopefully she's moved onto a more honorable, lucrative, traditional line of work for people like her. I can think of a couple in particular.

But that last one led me to the Cooper I did buy, and I'm far better off for it (I think...). Much lower mileage, better cared for, and a JCW no less, for about the same price at a much better vendor. One door closes, another opens. All's well that ends well.

Two cars I still regret not getting the first was back in 1980 there was a 1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II and in 1999 I was stationed in Germany, and downtown there was a Mini dealership they had about 30 brand new Minis the the Mk VII (classic design) ... I had so many to choose from and I didn't get one because I didn't want to mess with the grey market import when I wanted to ship it back to the US.

 

It was 1980 or 1981, I was just into my teens.

We had the Nickel Ads paper, the ‘80’s version of Craigslist.

One week I saw a 1968 Chevy Camaro, RS/SS Convertible w/327ci engine.

FOR $400!

Keep in mind that this was right after the Energy Crisis, cars like this were being dumped for more fuel efficient models.

No doubt this car was beat, but it was what it was and I begged my parents to buy it. Of course they didn’t.

What that car would be worth now would be all the retirement money I’d need!

 

For us, it was the Penny Saver.

 

1974, First "oil crisis", gas went from 25 cents a gallon to 45 cents.
I was 17, and bought a 1969 HEMI roadrunner for $900. Learned to drive the 4 speed manual on the FRWY on the way home.
Lost my license 6 months later!!!

I got a 6 cylinder 1970 Camaro as a first car, and I still have it all these years later.

Did a V8 transplant in the early ‘90’s, but it’s mostly sat for the last 20 years. It will be my first project in retirement.

 

Sold it 5 years later for 2K, the guy only wanted the engine for a bracket racer.

 

At one time I had a 2004 BMW ZHP sedan. I sold my previous daily, a 1994 Civic. I kinda wish I'd bought an M3 and kept the Civic to continue to daily. Don't get me wrong, I loved the ZHP, I miss that car, but of cars I can obtain, e46 M3s are very high on my list of favorites.

 

Not me but my Dad. He had an opportunity to buy a 1980 Porsche 928 from a friend back in 1983 for $5,000. He opted for a 1982 Cadillac Eldorado.
Years later he regretted it too.

My favorite design brand was/is AMC - AMX.
That includes the Pacer - love that little "fish bowl" on wheels. I saw one completely blown out as a drag car. It was breathtaking!

 

I've bought myself every car I've ever wanted. Looking back, I can't help but think about the regret of not getting my son a Mini Jeep. I like old vintage jeeps. Certain older Jeep models, especially those well-maintained or restored, can retain or even increase in value over time. I still think about the 1995 Mazda RX-7 I passed on years ago. The design was stunning, and the rotary engine had such a unique character. Prices have skyrocketed since then, so it feels like a missed opportunity. I also regret not grabbing a Honda S2000—another fun, reliable car that's becoming a classic.
