BMW pulls manual from M4
BMW pulls manual from M4

If BMW is pulling the manual transmission option from the M4, which is the successor to the M3, and one of its most enthusiast-aimed cars, it makes me wonder if they will do the same to Mini in the coming years. I don't see it happening with the current automatic, but if Mini gets a DSG auto, I'd say it would be a very serious discussion within the halls of Mini/BMW.
And I'd hate to see that happen. I'm 45 and I've never owned an automatic as my personal vehicle.

It's sad news, and I don't care how good their automatic is. I've owned just a few automatics but one was a truck and two were Jeeps that I couldn't get with a manual tranny. Given the choice I'll always pick a manual, but I'm afraid they're going the way of the dinosaur.
