Hmmmm 2013 Range Rover Evoque Convertible Coming in 2014

The Range Rover Evoque convertible has been officially approved for production according to Edmunds.
Plans for the vehicle, designed to compete with the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, had been canceled according to many media outlets, but British car magazine What Car? has said that the project is back on after talking to a senior Land Rover insider.

The convertible will be released by 2014.
Jaguar Land Rover has yet to comment officially regarding the new vehicle.
The Evoque convertible concept was shown off at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show where Land Rover said that the open-top vehicle requires 165 lbs. of structural reinforcement for support according to Edmunds.
The vehicle's roof is made of fabric, will be electrically operated and folds beneath the car's waistline.
A rollover protection system will be included according to the Land Rover insider.
Expect the vehicle to offer a 240-hp 2.0-l engine and automatic transmission as the base car, though the nine-speed automatic option that Land Rover is working on may be out in time as well to improve performance and fuel economy.
The base Range Rover Evoque sells for $42,935, with an $895 destination charge. The company already has said the new model will be sold for 10 to 15 percent more than its predecessor.
