Of all the mods to that car this one struck me as most appropriate:

Stereo: $5 Panasonic from Junkyard!

You go with Yugo!

Had a friend that delievered pizza in one. Can't beat it. He paid $600 for the car and when ever he needed a part the junkyards would pretty much give parts for next to nothing. Maybe they felt sorry for him. I drove it once. Not a good pizza car, only because of the manual steering. My arms would be putty by the end of the night.

You laugh now but, depending on what happens after 50k miles, the Mini may quickly go the way of the Yugo.

Laugh if you will, but he paid less for the whole car than I did for the Unichip ECU on my MCS!!

Hmmm, maybe a fleet of Yugo's isn't such a bad idea.

My favorite Yugo story. A friend lost the key to his Yugo. he went to a local locksmith, who asked him if he remembered the model year of the car. 1987, I believe. The locksmith then cuts him one, with just that info. Seems that all the cars Yugo shipped came with the same lock and ignition key for that model year. Course, who would want to steal one anyways?

Back when those "things" came out one of the radio stations in San Diego gave some lucky (?) winner a six-pack of Yugos. At least he had one to drive and five new ones for parts.

I actually saw a Yugo driving down the street about 2 weeks ago in San Diego. It suprised the hell out of me. I didn't think any of them would still be running.
