Just picked up my new project

It is a 1946 ****** CJ2A. I am the 4th owner. It has 75K miles and is 90 percent original...believe the only new parts are the hood, wheels, seat cushions and gauges. It is missing some of the small details and needs to be repainted as the current paint is a rattle can flat tan paint job...good enough for now but would like to redo it with a better paint.

The motor, drive train and chassis are solid.

The tub is original and is far from perfect, but it is good enough for the car's intended purpose which is a driver.

Looking forward to getting working on this one for a few years to see where it goes.

My first order for Kaiser ****** is on the way so I should have a rear seat, lap belts, and the first round of small pieces added in the next week.

Next will add a spare and paint the wheels something other than black.

After that I will start working on the Tub to clean some of the old repairs and get her ready for some new paint.

I will say that the first drive was a bit terrifying...mechanical brakes, no power steering, no syncro-mesh transmission...but for tooling around on the country roads near my place it is a blast and my kids love it.

very cool indeed. Be careful on turns...they are well known for being easy to flip.

it just got a lot cooler. That would turn a lot of heads at car shows held on the Army post I work on.
