OTA: It's better to be lucky than good (WRX edition)
Or in this case, it's just good to be lucky.

WRX Destroyed, but I walked away...
Happened yesterday on rt-83N in Harrisburg. Tractor trailer (speeding) carrying 45,000 gallons of Liquid Nitrogen rear ended me on the highway, traffic was stopped/backing up. The truck drove up the back of my wrx and pushed me underneath the stopped tractor trailer in front of me.
It took firecrews about 15-20 mins to extract me from the wreck. They cut the driver door and driver side a frame, the rest was destroyed in the wreck.
They took me to the Trauma unit, got looked over, and was released a couple of hours later. Few scrathes and a black eye.
It's amazing I'm alive.

That is one lucky guy. I can't for the life of me figure how someone could get out of that wreck with no major injuries (much less alive). And even scarier than the basic accident is the fact that he was rear-ended by a liquid nitrogen truck. OK, it's not explosive, but I'd like to believe that anyone driving one of those compressed gas tanker trucks would be safer than the average truck driver. Guess not...
