Special Edition Scion..... already....

We set out to make an Orange car. But it wasn't Orange enough. So we made it Oranger. Still not Orange enough. We added more Orange. Done.
Then we made 2100 of them.
Presenting the xB Release Series 1.0, the Orangest car in the history of cars
They're everywhere here in socal...I see at least 10 a day. A new scion model is on the way, called the Scion TC. With the TRD package which includes a supercharger it will make over 200 HP
MCS's watch out!

The 1.0 Release Scion's apply to both the xA and the xB - the bean isn't orange, though. Whenever you see these two on the road, notice they also "come with" a "lift kit option". Whoever spec'd those springs need to be shot, IMO.
sidenote - The tC is very nice!

The TC is nice (At least compared to the aweful xA and Xb models) but is nothing special design wise. It is targeted to Scion clientele that can't stomach the looks of the other funkier models (See Scion failure #1...going the conservative route because its bread and butter cars are not attracting the 18-22 year olds they were hoping for).
The TC actually reminds me of an updated version of the late 1990's Toyota Paseo.

The Scion Xb is a marketing exercise to see how many people will buy an box on wheels. It looks like it is working so far. Ford had their Edsel, now it is Toyotas turn. Or maybe it is an AMC Pacer for the new millenium.
I can just picture an bunch of marketing guys in thier 30s and 40s at Toyota going: "how many kids can we sucker into this one?"

My wife and I needed a beater to drive and park the car at the clinic, where the neighborhood was questionable. So, we purchased a Scion xA last July when it was first introduced in CA. I towed the car all the way to CT, where we registered the car. Believe it or not, we were getting more attention in the Scion xA than my current MINI.

I you dont' want attention, you should've gotten a Cavalier or an Escort.

>>the scion xb isn't that bad. dare i say it, but it looks like a offspring of a mini and a chevy astro van! Too bad Hawaii don't have them yet!
I agree....I actually wanted one before I bought my MINI. But I didn't take my trip to socal until 5 months after I bought my MINI. when I was up in LA, I wanted to test drive one so bad, but I thought I might end up buying one and shipping back to Hawaii. They are much nicer in person. They're also much smaller. I'm taking another trip to socal soon.....maybe the TC will be on my shopping list!
