can anyone verify this story?

i'm not sure what to say about this....i'm into some of the features of his designs, and not some of the others....i think he's done pretty decent job at moving BMW forward...but there are just a few things I'd like to see change in his current designs (including the next gen 3 series)

Keep in mind he didn't actually design the Z8, Z4, 7, 6, 5, or the 3 - he simply oversees all design at BMW.

According to the rumor we will be leaving after the 1 series is introduced later this year.

I know there are those who like the new Bangle-directed designs, but I for one will certainly not shed any tears if he leaves BMW. I'm very unlikely ever to buy a BMW (even more so since buying a MINI), but I've always enjoyed admiring them until the last few years when they stopped being desirable to me at all. I just wouldn't be caught dead in that new 5, and I dread laying my eyes on the new 3 for the first time.

It will be interesting to see where the designs go from here. I don't think I could like them any LESS, that's for sure.

I'm indifferent to this news:
he didn't have anything to do with the MINI!

Frankly, I'd say it was refreshing to see some change in the design of beamers, just for the sake of change. I like the Z4 (most of it), and I like some elements of the design of the 3, 5, 6 and 7 series cars. I absolutely despise the butt-ugly hiney he's put on most cars, IMHO an awful design, but still, I appreciate change, fresh air, innovation more than stagnant old school design.

Just recently I was mulling over designs of 'cool cars', such as Carrera GT, Gallardo, Ford GT, Caddy XLR, MB-SLR, Gallardo, etc...

It's of course the subject of individual taste, which is non-disputandum as we know, but IMHO a lot of these cars are realy, truly uggly! The SLR is frighteningly uggly, the Carrera GT is non-descript uggly, the GT is just re-hash of an old design that once was beautiful. The only one that stands out in my view is the Gallardo, which has it's own, refreshing, clean, and beautiful design...

Hhhmmmm
I'm glad the MINI came out as it did. Kudo's to the MINI design team!!!

He came, he saw, he ruined

Hmm, who else neads a make over? Ford has Jay Mays, Ferrari-Maserati has Frank Stephenson, MG Rover has Peter Stevens.

Hey Chris, why not submit your C.V. to Peugeot, I hear they need help re-designing one of their pepper mills. (spicy attempt at humor).
