Soaring gas prices!
My 2011 MCS has renewed my love for driving. But these gas prices!
A gallon of premium where I live is $4.15, and that's Unocal, mind you. Every time I pass by a gas station, those price numbers glare at me, making me ease off the gas pedal, shift to a higher gear, and allow the octogenarian driving a Buick behind me to overtake.
That's not the way a Mini is meant to be driven!
Every time I fill up and I see that "89" behind the fuel door, I'm tempted.

Truck for weekend use only
Now that the gas prices are up, the F150 sits in the driveway! I used to drive it a couple of days to work (so that I could sit way up high!), but now since gas is hovering at $3.60/gallon and soon to go much higher the F150 is relegated to weekend chores!
I to have begun looking for ways to extend the gas mileage. Since I converted to EnVigor (non RFT), my gas mileage went down to 27 - 28/mpg. On the way home I have a few steep long slopes, and that is usually when I slip her into neutral and coast (99mpg!). By doing that it makes up for the "spirited driving" I do on occasion (at least I tell myself that!).
Well, at least the value of the MINI should remain high, the last time we had a spike it was, at least until the gas price dropped down!
