Got to drive the Nissan Leaf!
Hi all, I got to drive a Nissan electric mule (modified versa with Leaf drivetrain) and take a gander at one of the two existing Nissan Leafs a few days ago. Wrote it up here.
Anyway, it's got a range of 100 miles, seats 5 and is targeted at a price point just over $25k. All in all, it's a fine car!

I think you've got it wrong...
the cube already existed in Japan. And I've driven it too. It's a great car for first time buyers or those that live in cities.
And the leaf is the first affordable all electric from one of the main automotive manufacturers. Even if one doesn't think that electrics are the way to go, it's obvious that there are many who do. First mover advantage at this price point is quite a good thing for Nissan.
