Mockup? Of what? That is a final production vehicle...with the new and improved transmission!!!
As for the company...they are doing as good as they can do in this economy...but they are continuing to produce cars and that is what matters! We expect ours in April or May...

The odd thing is that I have seen SEC and internal documentation that says otherwise. All orders that have been taken will be filled. No one has been turned away. My car was ordered in mid 2008 with a delivery in early 2nd quarter 2009.
Tesla requested some of the bail out money because it was said to be "for auto-manufactures to improve technology to aid in the consumption for less oil and better efficiency" What better company to deserve some anti-oil money than the one that never plans on using any? They are actually not far from being cash flow positive...
I am not saying this economy will not affect them because it will effect us all, but they are far from dead as everyone is hinting.
If you laid down your deposit for a car today, you would be looking at a very late 2009 or early 2010 delivery date.

Its good to hear people are getting their cars. I wonder why if the documents say they are just fine have they come to the press and said otherwise and layed off employees. Not to mention attempting to get government support. They have a lot of big money investors that want to see the company do well, hence the new CEO so I dont doubt tesla will be around for a while longer. But you gotta admit when the new CEO comes out and says they have only 9 mill left in the bank and they layed off a portion of their employees, thats a little disconcerting.
