Anyone check out Lotus?

Just checked out some new Lotus's. That Exige S Club Racer is a cool looking car. Wonder if we can put their rear spoiler on our cars? . I really like the way they get air into the IC on the Exige S 240 . Anybody else check them out? Also, what the heck is wrong with Mini? We have a Lotus dealer here in Fresno and can't get a Mini dealer, thats sad.

I would love to get a Lotus if I could aford for it not to be a daily driver. It would be a great weekend/Track car.

Weber BMW sucks, (which makes them like the cars they sale). Surroz BMW is good but visalia doesn't have enough people.

Hubby has an Elise

My hubby has a 2005 Elise and loves to autocross in it.. but it would SUCK as a daily driver. The gas mileage is great, but you feel every bump and there isn't even a built in cup holder. We did one road trip in it back before we had our son, and while a blast, it took it's toll physically.

I've driven a Lotus Elise before; def. a LOT of fun but yeah i wouldn't want to drive it on the streets for very long.

I agree with what caulyne said above.

We caught Car&Driver at the proving grounds with an Elise and they let me sit in it. Close as I've ever been, but I still want it, bad. Couldn't afford one (and, have to drive all year) yet, but it's next on "the list."

there is a very good chance i will be picking one up shortly after graduation. i'll be keeping the MINI as well for the daily commute but the Lotus will be so nice for special nights out and those unbeatable auto-x events.

I'm a big Lotus fan. The cars, especially the Chapman era one's, have some serious soul. This is a very good thing... but also a very bad thing when it comes to older British cars .

I've had my Europa for a couple years now and it really has become a remarkable relationship. It's kind of like me dating an older woman; she needs a little more maintenance and is touchy but she knows how to make you happy. It's remarkable how on a mid-engined Europa, I just can't get the rear end to break loose. When I'm out of college and making some real money, I'm hoping to turn this 80 hp fun machine into a 150 hp Gordini-powered monster complete with a twin-link rear suspension and coilovers.

The new Loti are a great continuation of the company's history. For the price, you just can't beat the all-around package of the Elise or Exige. Lotus Engineering not only designs their own cars but helps with others as well. The new Corvette's suspension, for example, was designed by Lotus.

If i'm not mistaken, Lotus develops most F1 chassis except for Ferrari and a couple others don't they? The Elise and Exige are using Toyota engines tho.

To me, Lotus is to track freaks what the C6 Z06 is to the supercar world: best bang for the buck. You're not going to get a better deal for the money you put out to get the performance you get in return.
