Who is thinking about a 135i?

A member ''Advevo'' on 1addicts.com posted some pics of his 2009 Alpine White 135i. I plan on getting one in the color also in a few months. Anybody else thinking about it?

Some dealerships are selling them for the ED msrp of $33,175. You just have to look.

That one has got my interest as well. I won't be in the market for a couple years at the earliest but that coup is on the list- and by then I'll be able to find a lightly used one for less!

These are the first pics of the 1 series that has made me go "Wow!". I don't know if it's the alpine white or the side view, but I think it looks really cool. Now the question is "how does this fit into my stable?". One thing for sure, the MINI stays!

You gotta love BMW for shoving a 3.0liter twin turbo Inline 6 cylinder into this little car.

That color in a convertible might just make my wife trade in her Z4.

I reckon high 4's to 60mph and low 13's in the quarter bone stock. Keep an eye out for the first FULL test in the car mags.

Now that S2000CR is ugly. I havent seen a universal dissappointment in our community since the Pontiaz Aztec. Hopefully you will change your mind.

OT, but I recently saw a BMW ad that was clearly (though implicitly) referring to the MINI in a sarcastically disparaging way. Smart advertising.... perhaps.

Ha yeah right. I love my s2k and could easily trade it for a CR instead of a 135i but Honda needs to make a stronger case. Shaving a 1.5 seconds off a lap time isnt enough. Not a single hp in 9yrs is not right. A quicker steering ratio isnt enough either. The first gen s2k has the same ratio as the CR. Go figure.

Yeah, the new STi has a lot of bang for your buck. With me it all depends on what my needs are when I'm done with the MINI. I'd love the 135i, 335i, or a used M3. But if I need more cargo/ family room at that point it's gonna be the STi.

yah, but you already have one. i don't. if you didn't have one and
were to buy a new S2K right now, you would get the CR, no?

that's interesting and pretty cool

the bmw motor makes peak torque at 1400rpm, that's pretty sweet but not all that surprising given it's a 6-cylinder. in the wet the sti will no doubt have the traction advantage but in the dry the 135i can probably walk all over the sti. i wonder how much the fancy differential stuff in the sti will make a difference

The 1 is about 400lbs too heavy. I can't believe it weighs almost 3500lbs. They also need to bring the diesel engines and the hatchback versions over here. And bring the price down ~5k.

Correction the 1 series is 200lb to heavy. The car will come in at 3198. BMW adds 75kg to there U.S. unladen weight to include driver and luggage.

Don't forget about the Mazdaspeed 3. IMO nicer looking than the STI and I would prefer a Mazda over a Subaru.
