Who else is watching the Barrett-Jackson Live Auto Auction?

It's on the SPEED network...something like 39 total hours of live coverage through the weekend, including 10 hours today, 10 tomorrow, and 4 on Sunday. I've had it on for a few hours each of the past three days.

Alas, I don't see any classic Minis among the lot, which was a bit of a disappointment. However, it's pretty cool to see all of the one-of-a-kind classics as they roll across the stage. The muscle cars from the '50s and '60s seem to be in big demand. The detailing is amazing...I can hardly imagine how much of ken's $80 carnuba they must go thru.

Oh, and you can follow the auction and the up-to-the-minute sales prices on their website (http://www.barrett-jackson.com/). They also have a "fantasy auction" where you can bid online or via text message and win cool auto-related prizes.

Pretty entertaining stuff for an auto wonk.

I watch a little. Not as much as my old man, though. I don't think its nearly as good as last year.

Probably different experience for us old farts who used to drive those Chevelles and 'Cudas back when we were in high school. Those were the days...big blocks and L60 tires and scooping the loop...

What I wouldn't give to still have my '65 Mustang.

No.. I get it.. There awesome cars! I would take any of them over some new POS.. I just want to watch my Speed shows. I am jealous of the old farts that are spending that much on a car that will most likely sit in a nice garage.

Don't get wrong, I love the cars. Just check out my NAM tag. My old man has a 71 Dart and a 70 AMX. I live in a carbureator fueled house. I just think its boring after maybe half an hour. The 700HP Hemi Dart was badass I must say.

I'm enjoying seeing that Michelin commercial every hour or so during the breaks in the auction...you know, the one that ends with the R53 doing a perfect skid into the service station.

I like to watch but this place doesn't have Speed. I like to see all the cars cross the stage.

My dad's had it on all freakin' day today along with the last 4 days and if I hear an auctioneer rabble on one more time I think I'm gonna lose it.

I usually watch it when it's on- I noticed more bidder confusion this year,I guess the place is too popular and huge, I feel for the auctioneer and bidders assistants tryin to keep up in that crowd.

How about the new ZR1 Corvette-that's been in all the car mags this month, sounds like a heck of a sports car and it's a nice $901k write off for the winner (deduct the sticker proce of $99k from his $1mil bid).

My favorite part other than just seeing the cars is the tech bits the TV guy add-very informative. Where was Alan De Cadinet this year??

I noticed that the Monster Garage 2002 Mini/Snowmobile was not among the lot of MG vehicles sold off. What ever became of it?
