NorCal Minis vs. Northern California Forum
NorCal Minis vs. Northern California Forum
Living in the SF Bay Area, I regularly check both the NorCal Minis and Northern California forums for local discussions. I'm a little confused though, as to why we need to have both of these forums? I know that one is supposed to be for the NorCal Mini club, but for all practical purposes, it seems that both forums are being used the same way. Would it be better to consolidate both forums into a single one?

Not completely true. There are 4 Mini clubs in Northern Californa. MOASF represents the General San Francisco Bay Area centered in the Pleasanton area. Norcal MINIs also centered in the Danville-Pleasanton area services primarily the east and south bay area. Gold Country MINI services primarily the Sacramento Valley and west Sierra foothill areas, and Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts centered in the Santa Rosa area services primarily San Francisco north to southern Mendocino County.
The interesting thing though is many members belong to multiple clubs. I belong to all four and I know others that do as well. The multiple clubs were formed due to the general geographcs of the Bay Area. With traffic, inadequate roads, and the poor shape of roads in Northern California, multiple clubs were formed to address members needs.
Although both Norcal and REME has a presence in the NAM forums, Gold Country & MOASF does not. This forum is in a location where clubs can invite the general MINI public to join in on area runs and activities.
I hope this helps.
