Jason had the lead with Hella's on lighting everything up for us.
The ride was excelent all the way thru, major tire wear to prove it.

Yea that must have been some site when we were going up HWY 84, Jason leading the way with his flame throwers blazing with a caravan of MINI’s following closely behind when we passed a San Mateo Sheriff coming down the mountain. Thing is by the time he would have been able to turn around he never would have been able to catch up with us.

So how fast were you all able to take Calaveras? For my first time up there I think we were doing in the 50's- 60's (I think) I was sliding on some turns too...damned tires!

Not sure how fast exactly, but we kept leaving the pack, then waiting for em to catch up and you know. 84 is the best though all the way because of how smooth it is, rather not say how fast we were able to manage, but it was fast. We'll do it all again for sure.

Yeah, not sure about how fast, but wound out in 2nd gear most of the time through the tight spots. Very fun road to drive in the dark. Sorry I missed going over the 84 w/ you guys. I stayed w/ you over the bridge (saw 120+mph) and left you after what seemed to be a long drive through Redwood City or wherever we were. Hope to meet up w/ you guys/gals again.

I think we have a rematch on our hands folks Hows the 29th sound to everyone??

Larry, would it take more than a half hour to get to milpitas at that time??? How does this sound to everyone.... Friday the 29th, meet at 10:30PM and leave at roughly 11:00PM (or whenever Larry gets there). This time, we drive Calaveras and head the CORRECT way on 880 towards the dumbarton bridge. Take the Dumbarton over and continue up 84, making a pit stop at alices of course. From there we continue out to highway 1 on 84. This is the break point... people who are up for driving more, can continue down highway to santa cruz... people who want to go to bed can go back 84 or head up to 92.

After the drive, we come back to my place and all have some drinks and pass out. Ive got a decent sized couch and tons of floor room If youre really brave, ive got a counch outside

29th sounds good. I may or may not have my MINI by then (ETA is 4/27 now), but I'll definitely stop by to say "hi" either way.

Oh yah, and it was definitely 130+.

Yeah, the mods are coming, you gotta let me get past 10k miles before I go too wild. I guess the s/c pulley works better under the hood than resting in my cupholder. One day I'll finally get around to installing it.

What about a Moraga Rd. thru Canyon (yes there's a town called Canyon) up to Grizzly Peak w/ a short stop to look over the Bay, then down to San Pablo Dam Rd. to either Pinole Valley/Bear Creek/Reliez Valley Rd. run????? Just thinking aloud....on the computer.....I guess that's not really thinking aloud, but maybe it would work. Twisty, w/ some longer sweepers thrown in. Not to mention you go from trendy Lafayette to rainforest looking Canyon and end up in Oakland. Kind of cool all the different regions this area has.
Anyways, just throwing that out there. Check out your Thomas Bros. maps and see how it may or may not work.
