Anyone know of any good roads that are close to Livermore or Stockton? I'm open to anything around Stockton. For Livermore I'm looking for something close enough to me that I can do during a 1 hour lunch break from work. Scenery would be nice but I'm primarily looking for roads with some twisties. I did check out pashnit.com but it doesn't seem like there is anything near Stockton, nor is there anything near Livermore that can be done in an hour.

Have you tried Eight Mile Rd. near the delta? I havent been there in a few years and dont know if they have built houses there yet.

Haven't been in that area in a while but I'll have to check it out...I think they are building houses around there though.

Fun Roads
Patterson Pass into livermore, Altmonte Pass, on the north side of 580.
Both are fun roads to go to work on.

From Stockton, take HWY 4 to Angel's Camp in the foothills to the east. Very twisty and hilly, with fun passing lanes.
From Angel's Camp, go north on 49 through Calaveras County. Not as twisy, but very scenic. Wind up at the Jackson Rancheria Indian Casino for a great buffet (Just north of Jackson)!
You can continue on to Placerville, where 49 hooks up with 50, taking you either to Tahoe or into Sacramento, merging with 80 or 5 and back home.
