Recomendation for Major-ish engine work near San Jose/ Santa Cruz?

I have experienced a total loss of compression in cylinder #3 and I'm hoping that it's just a head gasket and not a cracked valve or piston. I live off Hwy 17 between Santa Cruz and San Jose. Can anybody recommend an honest shop that is good with major engine work and is familiar with MINI's. I haven't had the best luck with the dealers around here, so I prefer an independent shop.

Thanks for your help! Hopefully my ailing MINI will be back on the road soon, and for somewhere less than 50% of its value

If you don't get any recommendations, try out this site here and Google them for reviews: http://www.minirepairshops.com/. Good luck! Hope you get your MINI fixed up soon.
