Can anyone recommend a good shop around Chicago where they had their MINI engine cleaned, checked, and/or honed/bored?
Plan to tear the engine down and build it myself.
Just need it cleaned and checked for cracks/straightness. Plan to send the head out as well...maybe to Way.

What are standard prices for cleaning the block and checking for cracks and measuring for flatness and any/all other recommend services?

Any help is appreciated. See plenty of engine build threads but not any that show a list of recommended steps to prep the engine for a rebuild and associated costs for a shop to do work (minus the bottom end build and to rebuild the head). I see prices on Way's site for head work.
