Long Island Mini Meet, June 8th
>>>>>>i'm so upset! i made this awesome silkscreen of a classic mini that i was gonna put on a jacket to wear at the meet, but i apparently left the silkscreen in rhode island...
yo también! Fue. The MINI is one beautiful car eh? How many in the current student body?

:???: how many minis? or students?? well i suppose i'll answer both..... i think there are two faculty members with minis and i believe two students with minis.. myself included. the other one is a dark silver/white S that i see in the metcalf parking lot all the time! have not seen who owns it.
as far as students go, i can't give you a definite number but i believe its about 2,500 students.... don't hold me to that though....

>>>>Looks like sun for Sunday now so maybe well be okay.
>>
>>doesn't that mean traffic for us?
No. "AM clouds/PM sun" still says weather.com. That'll keep it clear traffic-wise for us if their forecast was worth a cent. I think it's light traffic either or as the water's still freezing.

I wouldn't, NOMO. I never had a clue how many students there were. At one time I had the number of students in my department down, but that didn't last long. Did you notice that throughout the year the whole school never convenes and that you tend to see the same people all the time, even if you party? Yeah before this thread suffers anyore, let me assure you I was curious abot the MINI count.
See you sunday!

.. one last comment about risd, i swear!
i have noticed that, but i love everyone in my department and everyone i party with, so i'm totally fine with it!
i really miss the partying right about now... sitting home..... doing nothing...

To Be Clear:
For those caravanin g from Danbury - It's 8 at the Filenes of Danbury Fair Mall. I figure an hour to Bklyn, then another 40 to the beach. That's 20 minutes muck time for traffic, stops, and maybe just being a little early.
The Brooklyn/Queens stop&gather is projected at 9:00 and is an ETA. Not on the outside any more than inside. Pulaski Bridge at Brooklyn end.
See you there!

>>wait where in queens are you meeting? i'm more by nassau.... i guess i'll have to go alone....? i live right by the cross island and clearview..........
Nomonstersinme you do not have to get up as early as we do. Get yerself down 495 and pull off at Greenpoint Ave exit. Actually - follow mapquest - plug in McGuiness & Greenpoint Ave. Just go No.on McGuiness til you see the bridge ahead. There we'll be.

>>Hey Chris! Where are you staying in Montauk? A few of us thinking of swinging out to the lighthouse after the meet Sunday - then driving home after dinner. Might you still be around? CooperSpeed and Antsmini might be part of the few.
>>
I'm actually staying on my friend's boat, tied up at a marina. It's a 75-year-old, 80 foot wooden fishing boat that no longer has an engine or other method of locomotion, but it floats just fine. Someone GAVE it to her! She lived on it all last summer. No phone and no internet, and I doubt my Nextel will work out there.
CooperSpeed - yup, skipping the road race for only like the second time EVER. I overcommitted myself in June, thought there was one more weekend than there actually is, so it's Montauk this weekend, wedding next weekend, friend's graduation party (in Litchfield) the weekend of the 21st, and then off to see my sister in Phoenix!

>>I figure we could skip a lot of it by cutting through Sag Harbor.
...home of one of my favorite bookstores on earth - Canio's.
And maybe you guys know this, but if you head out to the lighthouse, take the Old Montauk Highway (branches off to the right) rather than 27 as you approach Hither Hills State Park. It's only a few miles, but they're REALLY COOL miles.

Yeah one GREAT road. But not at the speed limit
(They met at the State Park there.)
