Nothing ...
It's just that Julian doesn't give as many donations as other body shops (at least, that's Julians side of the story ... and my chats with some MoP staff would tend to back it up)

I didn't find out about Sublime until after my car was towed to HC, but wish I had (they look amazing!). I anticipate getting my car this week, and I'll let everyone know how it all went. So far, so good... I guess. Its been unremarkable, but lets wait to judge till I see the results.

He's trying to run a 100% honest business in a market where none are, or at least there is a lot of backscratching going on. Just another reason why I support him.

Just got my car back from the HC Collision Cener today. Two somewhat major problems: one is that my drivers window doesn't go all the way up, so I get that delightful whistle at anything over 60. The other is that the hood doesn't line up right, so it overlaps the left headlight slighly. Its going back tomorrow morning to be fixed. I am very dissatisfied with the time it took vs. the quality of the repairs.
Also they armor-all..ed the bejeezus out of it, and it kinda smells like faux-cherry.

*EDIT
Just talked to them and they said there's nobody in today that can fix the window, and since they're closed on Monday I can't have it fixed until Tuesday (but they did put me in front of everyone)

Try holding the window switch up for 30+ seconds..that supposedly resets its memorized top setting.

No need... I just came back from HC and they adjusted the window so it works correctly. And apparently the hood alignment issue was actually the way the light was mounted. I guess there is room for adjustment on the bracket and somehow they neglected to set it right the first time. Either way, they took care of it and were very apoligetic.

After my experience with Herb Chambers Collision center I am indifferent: I wasn't thrilled with the time they had the car (28 days) or the minor issues it returned with, but when it was all said and done the car is now perfect, so their quality is good.

I purchased my car from Herb Chambers and picked it up this past weekend. My MA Norm, was a good guy, and Krissy in Finance changed the system to allow Mini Select. They did this for me, or I was going to go to MoP. The sales Mgr, once she found out that my car had been stuck at the VDC for 2 week, got it delivered the next day. Overall there was a few bumps, but the people were all good.

Only real bummer was they could not find my second key, and had to order it.

Glad it is now fixed...but shouldn't those things get caught and fixed before initial delivery?

My Mini was totaled at the VDC... and I didn't even get to know her. Apparently the lightening blue car they recieved last week wasn't mine. My mini died at the VDC, and it only took BMW two weeks to notify me. (via my MA)

But Herb Chambers is making it up to me. Ian, my MA called me yesterday with the bad news, and he had already located another mini state side that had all of the options I was looking for plus some. He said I could re-order, or take the one he had found (at no extra cost). I took the quicker route with the extra options

Plus they offered me a loaner untill the new one is ready!

All in all this emotional rollercoaster was a horrible, stomach turning ride. But the daily updates from Ian, the offer of getting into a loaner untill my new car is ready, and the extra options have more than made up for it. I have to admit I was a little hesitant after reading some of the Herb Chambers reviews, but my experience there has been exceptional given the situation. Thats what customer service is really about; me walking away from a bad situation feeling taken care of.

Bad stuff happens occasionally to every dealership, car manufacturer, etc, etc. What's really important to the customer is the response - sounds like Herb Chambers MINI have done very well in responding to this. Hope to meet you on the road in your new MINI soon
