my mini was in an accident
and my friend was driving it, running an urgent errand, very carefully, not rushing

anywayz, i have insurance with allstate, my mini is just 2 weeks old now and i have yet to receive my complete insuranc coverage guide. any one know what happens in cases like this?

i own the mini, and i hold the insurance (as supposed to parents owning it and being under their insurance). so the only listed driver is obviously me. would my insurance come through with no problems? i've done some faq searches on web and only thing everyone talks about is unlisted family member.....what happens if it is your friend borrowing the car?

will my rates go up? will my insurance drop me after settling this accident?
if anyone dealt with a situation like this, even if their provider wasn't allstate, please respond

thx

Write a note saying your buddy had permission to drive the car. Post date it to the date of the accident. Fold it up and tell him/her to stick it in their pocket and hold on to it.
This may seem dumb, but my insurance carrier told me to do this if I ever let a friend or family member drive any of my vehicles. Guess it proves you granted permission and they would then be covered by the insurance.
