What is with people and keeping car keys inside of cars?? This is the 2nd thread about a stolen MINI recently due to keys being left in cars. I would never even *think* to keep keys in any of our cars!

To anyone else reading that has keys inside their car(s) - get them out! Anything outside is fair game to be stolen. You are asking for trouble!

The door gap when closed looks a little off now. The thieves drove 110 miles on their joy ride. The left their flashlight, screwdriver, snacks, a 50-cent CD and many cigarette ashes in the car.

I had the plastic "valet" key tucked in the leather owners manual in the glove compartment and it is now missing along with some other items. Does anyone know if there is a car alarm out there that will detonate a grenade between the drivers legs if they try to steal my mini?
Sorry to hear about your "mis-adventure", between Xenon thefts and what not, I'm beginning to dread driving my car into Boston. Well, not a grenade but perhaps this car alarm will suffice? http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/africa/9812...e.thrower.car/

So true..I keep the spare in my wallet in case I ever lose my keys..(knock on wood). What is the point of keeping them inside of the car?

Nice to know you got your car back though
