driving schools nyc area ?
I would recomend joining the BMWCCA. They hold quite a few high performance diving schools at many tracks. Actually I will be doing Lime Rock this coming Tuesday.
Also there is the SCDA. They hold a lot of schools at Lime Rock also. About $100 more then some BMWCCAs charge, but they seem to do it more often. They will be doing there first Lime Rock event this coming Monday.
There should be several Minis at Lime Rock both Monday and Tuesday. You should come and check it out.

BMWCCA is a very good choice. They are known to have one of the best driver's ed program in the country, especially their NJ chapter. There is also NASA's HPDE program which is also very good, usually a bit more track time than BMWCCA. Either one is a good choice.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
There are a number of us in the northeast area that are active in driver's ed track days. The BMWCCA chapters do a great job and are well-priced. When you join you are automatically assigned to your local chapter. You can do days with any number of chapters depending on their particular policy.
Among the advantages of BMWCCA are a lower price and good driving program. Most of them do, however, fill up very quickly.
With a group like SCDA it's usually easier to get in (with the exception of Lime Rock). SCDA runs an excellent program, I consider them to be one of the best non-club groups in the area.

Also keep a lookout on this board (usually in Regional) for some MINIs getting together at Pocono. There are usually a couple of events that get a big push for MINIs and draw up to 20 MINIs.

I've had fun and learned a lot at NASA's HPDE school at Pocono:

Check out the Skip Barber school up at Lime Rock. I'm not sure what their website is, but I can vouche for the school. The instructors are fantastic and it is well worth the (rather expensive) price.
I was going to sign up for the Tuesday track day at Lime Rock but I thought "CT in March?" and backed out. I'll be going to everything I can up there after that though.

I did the Skip Barber 3 day racing school at Sebring in February. It was a blast! There was lots of track time driving a car that is built for one thing only! Really a thrill! However, the classroom education was nothing more than what one can learn in the better driving schools with one's own car.
That said, I do believe it was a good value, gobs of fun and will be spending more money with them on some of the advanced activities.
