Looks really good Nick. Do you want to install the rear fog switch for me since you are now experienced with tearing the dash apart?

does look nice! Mike, are you running the toggle for the rear lights or will you just tie them into the brake lights?

I have both the toggle and switch panel that need to be installed. Then I'll have to find someone with NCExpert to program the fogs since no Mini dealer will do it now. How do yours work?

I just tied them into my brake lights using the kits supplied by gominigo.com. They just act as another set of brake lights.

It's actually not all that bad, and yes. I can help you tear it apart. The electrical on the other hand... I have an agreement with electricity. I don't mess with it, and it doesn't kill me. LOL

I've had all the parts (toggle switch, switch panel, and dash trim)since December to do this but just haven't been brave enough to jump into tearing it apart. I'm debating about ordering the anti glare tach and speedo covers.

I'm with you. I'm probably worse though. I know that if I ever did jump into something like that, a year later if I hear a tap (could be a rock jumping around the wheel well)....I'd think it was something that I didn't tighten in the dash.

Then I'd rip it all out again to confirm that nothing is lose, and then the cycle would continue.

I did change the battery on my iPhone though!

Hey everyone i just got the invite to this and am very interested. Im still relatively new to the mini scene. Im coming from a 2008 dodge manum on 22s. I got rearended and it was totaled. I test drove bout 12 cars and decided what the heck and went to bedord mini. Met cliff jacques there and ended up buying one that day based on service and the fact i had a ton of fun on the test drive. I got a 2012 mcs so far i have esm 002 17x8.5 made i big time error on tire choice and wore away the plastic fenders. So swapped them out for a stretched it. So if you see me around thats what happened. Ive nicknamed her frankenstein! Please let me know of any meets you all do. Also i go on a new england motorsports cruise up the kank every six month that i would love to have a ton of minis rep at instead of all the subis!! If you all wanna add me to facebook i have a bunch of photos. Names. David weare. Look forward to meeting everyone

I can be like that. My father is really bad at that. I hope that I don't have to replace the battery in my iPhone.

2012 MCS on order...I'd love to attend one of the meets after it gets here. In the meantime, I've noticed a few of you have "blacked out" the chrome. How did you do it?

Hey welcome! The ones with black out trim painted it with Plast-dip. It's a fairly common cheap mod. I ordered the Blackline trim from MINI which is on backorder until late July.

So where are you in southern nh?

personally i painted mine but most people vinyl wrap. there's some good how too's on paintin trim in here. i used scuff pad to scuff it up. clean it with some alcohol. two coats of self etching primer coat of primer 2 to 3 coats of black trim paint. then a heavy coat of clear and a light coat. took me about an our and they came out great i like it.

How does the Plasti-Dip last versus DIY painting? Being in NH and all, you all know what kind of weather/roads these cars have to go through....I'm just worried that any DIY option will end up chipping. Any of you guys have a clear film protector installed? If so, where? I have one on my truck...3M installed by dealer and I am quite impressed. There's not one chip/scratch on the front of my truck. I was thinking about something similar for the Mini.

i have heard of some people not liking how plastidip comes out but like all DIY its how much effort and research you put into it is how well its going to come out. so far my paint has gone about 6 months and still looks great. i did the front grill prior without using any clear and it chipped away. outmotoring has a viynl they sell for the chrome trim around the window. i have that on my car gone through about 10 car washes still holding up but its not as perfect as youd want it to be. but i also rushed. just looked at everying on vinyl styles there a little pricey but i believe you send in your trim and they send you back completed items. i am probably going to get thier a panel viynl http://vinylstyles.com/index2.php#/home/

When I did the PD I think I rushed it because it was fisheying when it dried. As for the clear bra we had MINI of Bedford install Ventureshield before taking delivery of the 2012 Justa. I would highly recommend that you have the clear bra installed as soon as possible. My Cooper S is covered with road rash from driving back and forth from Manchester to Portsmouth everyday.

I have the black out belt line tape from outmotoring that David mentioned.

http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...tline-kit.html

and it's available in red as well.
