tripped my brake sensor today, any idea if thats just pads or the whole shabang? dont want a major expense right now, still recovering from holiday over spending...
Is it out of free maintenance? What is the mileage on the Clubie? Front or Rear? Just last month I replaced front and rear brakes on mine and it cost me $500.00 for parts and labor.
I think it's so stupid how MINIs are the cheapest models BMW sells but the parts cost more than most BMW parts.

So in other words your out of free maintenance. Not by mileage but by date.
I bet you will need rotors as well. Mine is on its 1st replacement front rotors and 2nd replacement rear rotors. I'm at 69k.

Hawk has great race pads, but they run about $150 a set (front OR rear). With shipping and a six pack, I could pretty easily see $325. Rick, which pads do you run on the street? Mike - same question to you. Did you upgrade, or are you running the OE pads and rotors?
I'm currently running OEM replacement zimmerman zinc coated rotors with Pagid pads. The Pagids squeal at very temps so I'm going back to OEM pads. I didn't see the purpose of cross or slotted rotors for my driving style. Yes they look good behind the wheel but all they do is eat pads. Been down that road before.
