RMW Tuning Days in Eastern Connecticut - 2011
well I didn't have the tensioner tool so that made it a bit harder for them. it took them about 3 hrs to do mine. the biggest problem they had was getting the belt off and on. it was a little frustrating when they said it was an hour job. but i'd rather it take longer and get done right
it's been almost two years now and no problems at all. they also but on an exhaust for me. that was a whole other nightmare. not their fault though. the exhaust wasn't made for the cabrio and the hardware was missing

I have been waiting for this for quite some time - count me in. I purchased a tune from Jan last year and have only been running the standard map while I wait for the stars to align to have a "local" tune - will gladly drive the 3-4 hours!
(Made you join!)
Chili_Mini_PA, if you think you are far, think about me.
I come from Montréal (QC), it's at least 7hours of driving to Norwich (CT)... + I have to queue to borders (last year, it was more than a hour of waiting to pass the borders from USA to Canada).
Probably Jan has a trick in his hat to make my MINI goes faster and fly over the borders. At least, it will take less driving time.

oh yeah, The GPS had a top speed of 139 mph
going from Philly to Pittsburgh in a few hours on one tank of gas and 1/2 a tank of Meth.
You have to love the PA Autobaun. (a.k.a PA Turn Pike)
Thanks for all the power Jan.

Jan, I am currently in Guangzhou (China). Before landing to China, I have been in Japan for a week. I wore the hat in Tokyo streets and also in bars... and guess what, I got free beers all night on! Itsn't the 1st time I got free beers because the hat: I got free beers at Iron Maiden show in Québec city last summer.
So, all the good things the hat brings versus bad side... well, I keep my hat on! Plus, the hat makes people feeling good.
Bring on the beers!!!

I am hoping to get this tune organized for earlier in the year than June. Time will tell if that works out or not. The goal is 100% participation which won't be easy, but that is the goal.

You're correct, it was May of last year, and it was friggin hot that week too. Hopefully that won't be the case for whatever month is picked. The sooner, the better of course. Those colder temps will be just what the (doctor)intercooler ordered! lol

Anyway, what's about to setup a tailgate party on the dates of the event tuning? I could bring our finest quebecer beers to all of you!
I am all for it.
So far the access port is just for Gen 2 cars. Jan can use either to tune your car I believe, but I have to double check. You can search the Gen 2 forum for info on Access port.
I can wait for May, but sooner is fine with me. I would hate for it to be hot since I personally hate the heat and so does the dyno.

He will see everything it's putting out on the dyno, along with everything he can get from the ECU, and tune it right there.
With the Alta Accessport, it sounds cool, but it's not a realistic tune. Sounds like it's a sort of "canned" tune of sorts. IMO, if you want it done correctly and done by one of the most respected Mini tuners, bring your ride to Jan.
