Well.. as I've told others before... Sue and I do have a tradition on Jan 1. We drove out to Montauk Point (yeah we were just there Nov 30th) via the southern route.. usually Merrick Rd, Montauk Hwy, South Country Road.. spend some time out there.. and then head up to PJ for some nice hot NE Clam Chowder (in a bread bowl) and maybe a lobster at the SteamRoom opposite the Port Jefferson Ferry slip. I'm posting this if anyone want to join us.. you are welcome. We usually leave some time in the AM from Freeport.. taking with us (sometimes) hot mulled cider and just enjoying the drive out. .
Coming back.. obviously we would be going toward the north shore.. adn we also switch over to smaller roads like North Country Road going the Mt Sinai and such.. and then 25a thru Stoney Brook, St James.. etc,,, as I said.. just a fun drive

and yes we do stop for pics if we see something interesting... (like the Seafood restaurant on South Country Road with the large shark jaws at the opening!) or any nice sites.. (sometimes the Sphinx)

second... we drove up to Lake Byram again last week.. where the 1st RDR was... we did like 1/8th RDR.. following rt 133 from Mt Kisko to Ossining (after going past Valhalla to Lake Byram.. took a great shot of it!

so... Sue wants to go back up north rather than go out to Montauk...

so.. once more... if you see a wandering pepper white MC.. it's probably me.
